How's Life? [05 May 2006|12:00am]

[ mood | awake ]

well, no one has posted in a couple of weeks. I'm just wondering how everyone who marched this past season is doing since the season ended. Also, all who went to worlds, any memories, upsets, etc. that would like to share?

just a conversation starter.

WGI Worlds is drawing closer. This time next week, my bags will be packed and I'll be anxiously waiting to go there.

What does everyone else think about worlds?

Might as well make my predictions/hopes for WGI PIW this year. Finals consists of 12 groups. Heres what I think:

1. Rhythm X (They have the best fucking tenor line in existence, and they've never been so close to winning before. If a drumline show with Moonlight Sonata and Clair De Lune doesn't win, then the world's a fucked up place)

2. Music City Mystique (Rave Reviews like fucking crazy. Apparently their "Freakshow" theme is blowing people off the map. I won't hesitate to say that in 2004, they played the cleanest show that my ears have ever heard.)

3. Riverside Community College (I don't even know why I put them this high. They might have won last year, but they aged out their ass. Early season reviews said "dirty", but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. They always get the job done.)

4. Blue Knights (I wanted to say NCA, but unfortunetly, the line that always pleases a crowd. I mean ALWAYS.....they get sweet stuff for GE, and their bassline is always hella mad.)

5. North Coast Academy (Our top Michigan line. The reason I put them here instead of 4th is because they're inconsistant. The first time I saw them? Outstanding. Next time? kind of a Bag.... They march probably one of the hardest shows I've seen. So props.)

6. Matrix (They came out of nowhere this year and almost beat RX in GE at the dayton regional.)

7. Aimaichi (I <3 Asians)

8. Freelancers

9. Gateway

10. Great Lakes Percussion

11. I2

12. Pulse

What do ya think?

Just a general question, how far is everyone on their show so far? And what are your shows? I don't know if someone already posted that, and if they did, sorry :)

We're pretty much done, but for all we know our staff may change something while we're standing at the gate at Worlds. The show is never done :-P

hi. [02 Feb 2006|05:17pm]

[ mood | tired ]

Ok So since the popular thing is to introduce ourselves I'll do it too :)

I'm Katie and i'm in the Reeths Puffer pit. I play 4-mallet marimba mainly, but i switch around on all the mallet insterments. I'm the section leader, and a freshman.
Our show is....Countdown. Well it got renamed but i don't remember what it's called now. We play some Jean Luc Ponty which is awesome. Well our first competition is our home one, at ReethsPuffer a week from this Saturday.

Ok cool. Yep. Bye.

Hey everyone. I'm Chelsea, from South Lyon High School, and I'm in the winter percussion group here, SLP (South Lyon Percussion.) I tried out this year (i'm a junior) hoping to get anything, and I was either going to get the Vibe 4 spot or bells, and since one girl actually HAS a vibe, I naturally got the bells. That's okay though because I like it a lot; I even have like a two measure solo in the show so that's alright.

Our show is Dave Weckl, called 3D. It you don't know Dave, its jazz. We have about 35 memebers this year, giant pit. Its fun, and I've made lots of friends... Ha this makes me ask myself why I didn't join before

We're in PSA, but there's some debate over that :-\

Other than that, its great to be here!
